FAQ

Which worlds work?

Worlds with a video player that supports AVPro's Stream mode. ProTV, VideoTXL, Yamadev's non-synced players and other AVPro-capable players all work. If you are not sure which player a world uses, paste the URL and see whether it plays.

Does it work on Quest?

Yes. Paste the same URL. Expect about 2–3 seconds of latency.

Is there audio?

Yes. In Chrome, share a tab and turn on Share tab audio. Audio output was confirmed during verification.

Is it free?

Yes. Each stream lasts 15 minutes, and you can extend once (30 minutes max).

What if I forget to stop?

The stream ends automatically after 15 minutes — or after 30 minutes at most if you extended it.

What if I want to show a recording instead?

This page is for live screen sharing. To show a recorded video, PDF or image in VRChat, convert it into a VRChat video URL with our sister service WebScreen.

How does this relate to Discord?

You sign in with a Discord account. You cannot mirror a Discord screen share directly into VRChat, but pasting the URL issued here into a world's video player achieves the same thing.

How screen sharing works in VRChat

VRChat has no built-in screen sharing. This page turns your screen into a streaming URL that a video player in a world can play. You can share a browser tab, an application window, or your whole desktop.

With OBS you have to install it, configure a streaming server and stream key, and tune resolution and bitrate yourself. Choicast reaches the same result from the browser's screen picker alone, so it fits when you want to share your screen in VRChat without OBS, or show something to a friend on the spot.

Showing a recording instead?

If you only need to paste a recorded video, slides, a PDF or images, convert them into a VRChat-ready MP4 with our sister service WebScreen and keep a URL you can play again later.
